Medical Fund for Tristen Parsons

Donation protected
My name is Kathryn and I am blessed to be Tristen's Aunt. I have begun this account on behalf of Tristen's family....

Everyone that has had the privilege of knowing Tristen Parsons knows that he has the sweetest, kindest soul; a heart of gold.  His recent leukemia diagnosis has broken the hearts of his family and of all those who love him.
One thing is certain in life, it is that it can change at any moment. On Monday, the 5th of December, Tristen went to the dentist for a routine checkup and to talk about some discomfort he had been having with his gums. After being examined, he had been told that he had a severe case of gingivitis and he was somewhat relieved. Tuesday he was taken to the ER in Aurora, MO where he was prescribed an antibiotic for infection and tested for the mumps. Thursday he went to a walk-in clinic in Republic to learn that his generation had been part of a mumps vaccination that was faulty and they were certain he had a case of the mumps. By Friday the 9th, his discomfort had grown to a point he could no longer handle. He was having pain in his neck, and his slight bleeding of the gums had turned into spitting and coughing up blood. He was weak and tired, he gave up his favorite pastime of video games and only wanted to rest and sit still to avoid dizziness. Never once complaining or missing work, he went for another opinion to the Springfield ER on Saturday the 10th. After 3 cat scans, the head Dr told him that he was ordering a helicopter to take him directly to Barnes Hospital in St Louis.
Tristen had Leukemia and it was in a very aggressive state. With the winds up and strong, they had to rush him by ambulance to St. Louis. It has since been a mountain of obstacles that Tristen has faced.
Tristen's white blood cells had taken over his entire body. The average 7,000-12000 cells was at an astronomical 550,000 count. All platelet levels had been wiped out and he developed a brain hemorrhage. His kidneys and liver had begun to fail and he was no longer able to breathe on his own. He was about to face the only option of neurosurgery ,which in his unstable state was life threatening. The neurosurgeon removed a large section of his skull to relieve pressure on the brain and drain the hemorrhage. He beat the odds and pulled through surgery to the dismay of us all. Now he is fighting another battle. He is faced with the battle of Leukemia and the huge risk of neurological damage.
Tristen's parents have not left his side. The last thing we want them to be concerned about is the financial aspect of all of this. We want them to focus on their son. As we all know, medical bills will be coming in.  Along with your prayers, we are asking for a donation at this time of need for Tristen and his parents. No amount is too small.  Your gift would help with travel expenses, missed work, pay medical bills, food and lodging. If a donation is not possible, we ask that you still lift Tristen up in prayer and keep him in your thoughts.
We want to thank everyone for the outpouring  of love, support, and prayers. It has been felt greatly. Please continue to rally behind Tristen as he embarkes in the fight of his life.
We will be doing our best to post updates on this page as well. Thanks again and God bless.

Love,
Tristen's Family
