Medical Fundraiser for Karlynn Kline

Hello, my name is Brooke Kline and I am starting this GoFundMe for my sister.

On Tuesday, August 1st my sister was driving home from her second job when she got into a life-threatening collision on I-5. Her car rolled into a ditch after being hit from the left when a car traveling southbound crossed into northbound traffic hitting my sister. Her car was crushed and they had to use the jaws of life to remove her from the vehicle when she was then life-flighted via helicopter to Riverbend Hospital in Eugene.

Karlynn sustained many injuries including several fractures all along the left side of her body, and will now be undergoing multiple surgeries in order to repair the severe amount of damage done. As of now, she is completely sedated and it has been estimated she will be in the ICU for the next two weeks.

My sister is the strongest person I know. Before Tuesday she worked as a nanny for two wonderful kids and as a barista at the Espresso Barn in Cottage Grove. She is spontaneous, full of adventure and laughter, and I cannot believe that my family and I have to see her in such a crushing state.

We are unsure of the total cost of medical bills at this time, but between a life-flight via helicopter, multiple surgeries, and 2 weeks in the ICU, plus rehabilitation the medical bills will most likely be astronomical. My family is already feeling so much pressure surrounding this situation, as both of my parents have continued to stay by her side at Riverbend.

My hope is that with help that my family can find some peace of mind with medical bill help. Any donations at this time would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: Karlynn is still sedated but no longer requires a breathing tube. All of her surgeries have gone well so far. She’s powering through this like the fighter I know she is. I’m so grateful for all who have donated and have been praying/thinking of my sister. Everyone’s kindness has been overwhelming and my family cannot thank you all enough ❤️

UPDATE 8/5/23: Karlynn has been talking! It’s very hard to understand her due to the heavy amount of nerve damage in her face, but I’m happy to hear her saying things that bring out her personality. She’s been making good progress, but it’s been difficult for her because she doesn’t understand where she is and is in a lot of pain. The nurses braided her hair a couple night ago too and she looks absolutely beautiful ❤️ Thank you all again so much for your support and prayers.
