Medical funds for Jennifer Miner

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kayla Langenheim and I am fundraising for my aunt Jennifer Miner.

On Monday October 30th Jen was admitted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after experiencing severe abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Jen underwent exploratory surgery that day for a bowel obstruction where it was found that her intestines were severely adhered in many places. The surgeon did all they could to correct her bowel and Jen was discharged to heal at home on November 1st.

Jen experienced a lot of pain and discomfort while she was home and on November 6th she was again rushed to the hospital with similar symptoms and knowing that "something just isn't right with my body". The doctors inserted an NG (nasogastric) tube which drained an alarming amount of fluid from Jen's stomach. It was found that nothing she ate or drank was able to move through her intestines. They left the NG tube to aid in her obstruction while they attempted IV medications and fluids. It was decided that the next course of action would be a 24 hour contrast dye test.

They administered contrast dye and ran scans every few hours to track the progress of the dye through her intestines. Unfortunately, the test failed to show any dye successfully move through.

With no natural movement of fluids or food on November 8th Jen underwent another exploratory surgery. Unfortunately, her bowels were so inflamed that the surgeon had to close her up without fixing anything. They decided she needs to wait an additional ten or more days before going back in to make any more repairs. Until then she will remain hospitalized and monitored closely.

As you can imagine, Jen is struggling physically and mentally with her pain and recovery. It has been difficult for her to accept that she does not have control in this situation and she has to lean on her medical team, family and friends to get through this time. A big stressor for Jen is the looming medical bills and many weeks without the ability to work. She will be tremendously grateful for any financial contribution and well wishes sent her way. Jen does so much for her friends, family, coworkers and all the kids at Brattleboro Area Middle School. She wouldn't hesitate to donate to a cause such as this for any friend. Thank you for reading this and for supporting Jen. It is truly appreciated more than you know. ((More updates to come)). ❤
