Medical & Funeral Expenses for Nahom Kassaye

Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we write that we have lost our brother Nahom Kassaye. He was found unconscious in his home on Sunday morning, January 15th. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center and remained in the ICU for 7 days. He passed away on Saturday, January 21st.

Nahom was only 23 years old. He leaves behind his parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

Nahom and his family immigrated to Seattle from Ethiopia in 2006. Nahom was a family and community-based person. He enjoyed working with kids and spent a lot of time mentoring and guiding the youth. He was a natural leader for his community throughout high school and at the University of Washington, where he was set to graduate with his bachelor's this upcoming June. He was known as someone who was very kind and thoughtful and always put others before himself, especially his family. He was very outgoing, charismatic, had an infectious laugh, and had an extremely genuine heart. He will be remembered as a loving brother, a devoted son, and a caring friend. Nahom touched the lives of everyone around him and will always be kept in our hearts.

When the family tragically lost their first son in June of 2016, a few days before graduating from the University of Washington, Nahom was the pillar for his family - providing strength and support through this difficult time. While the family is still grieving their first loss, they are now having to grieve the loss of Nahom.

We ask that we come together as a community and support this family through these unbearable times.

Your support will be greatly appreciated. Donations will go towards medical expenses, funeral costs, and to help the family with alleviating some of the financial burdens from this unimaginable loss. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity during this difficult time.

The family is overwhelmed and will appreciate some privacy at this time. We ask that you pray for continued protection over their family as they endure this difficult loss. Please continue to share with your family and friends.
