Medical help for Andy Carlin Plasma Exchange

Hi Susanne here, l have organised this on behalf of our very good friend Andy.

Asking for help doesn't come easy for Andy and his family but now is the time they need your help for him.

Andy has been suffering daily since February 2022 when he received his Moderna Covid 19 vaccination.

He had an immediate reaction, experiencing chest pains, a racing heart, excessive sweating, blinding head pain, muscle weakness, full body shaking and extreme fatigue.

Unfortunately for Andy and the family this was only the start of what has been a long nightmare and losing battle so far!

He has gotten progressively worse over the past 30 months. They have lost count of the number of Doctor consultations, A&E visits, Hospital admissions and Private consultations (including specialists from other countries).

We all hoped Andy would have recovered by now. He is in constant pain, his central nervous system is hypersensitive and in overdrive. He suffers from episodes where he loses his ability to communicate and walk. He has to use crutches to walk only very short distances, he’s in a wheelchair to go out if he’s having a good day. They have had to make alterations to the house. Andy spends 95% of his time bedridden. At one stage he was on 40+ tablets a day plus supplements to help with the neurological symptoms and pain. This has completely destroyed Andy’s life.

There has been no financial or medical support over the last 30 months.

Well now is the time for his story to be continued with a little help.

Andy hasn’t been able to work a day since the vaccine. Andy will have severe lifelong autoimmune diseases. Was it not for the help of his parents, Andy would have been forced to sell there family home.

Private health care, testing, consultations, supplementation, house alterations, aids and lawyers fees has started to mount up. This was only to help with symptoms not to help with a cure.

With your help the next step for Andy is going specialised neurological diagnostic and can do a more in depth blood panel analysis, leading to intensive treatments that will hopefully give him some sort of living again. However he cannot rely on the NHS to provide these specialised treatments and it costs tens of thousands of pounds.

Plan for Andy

Andy is looking to have a medical procedure called plasma exchange, where blood is removed from the patient (a small amount at a time) and separated so that the plasma can be discarded. The red and white blood cells and the platelets are returned to the patient, along with the replacement fluid. An anti-coagulant is added to the blood to stop it clotting. Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), also known as plasmapheresis, removes and replaces a patient's blood plasma to treat certain diseases.

Andy has been in communication with Professor Barbir at Cromwell Hospital London.

The cost is not something that Andy and his family are able to fund on their own, as this is a massive amount of money for treatment and travel arrangements in London. This procedure will be carried out every 5-7 days however is very debilitating and Andy will not manage to commute to and from London every couple of days so additional costs for staying down there are making this procedure more expensive.

Once Andy has received this treatment he will then receive NAD IV therapy in Glasgow.

Exchange plasma Costs:

* Consultation £300

* The procedure £3000 each and will need maybe 2-4 = £12,000

* Total: £12,300.00

NAD IV therapy costs:

* £300-£400 per session and will receive 3 sessions per week for 5 weeks which is 15 sessions.

* Total: £6000 estimated

Additional costs:

* accommodation £5000 estimated.

* Travel £1700 estimated

* Total: £6700

In total for Andy to have this possible life changing treatment will be estimated around £25,000.

We understand it’s difficult times financially for families but would extremely appreciate any amount of donations that can be made.
