Medical help for Amy who cares for her mom 24 7

Hi, my name is Amy and I'm raising funds for medical expenses and surgery to repair a ruptured peroneal tendon in my right ankle.
I have been my mom's full-time caregiver since 2009 when she was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). On top of that, she was diagnosed with dementia almost two years ago.
Due to all the time I spend taking care of her, I am only able to work less than part-time at the local grocery store and therefore I don't have health insurance, nor do I have anything in savings.
On March 20, I was admitted to the hospital after having chest pain at work. The ER doctor decided it would be best to have cardiology run some tests to rule out a heart attack. All tests came back normal.
Before being discharged on March 21, I was doing a nuclear stress test and while walking on the treadmill, I heard a loud pop and felt a snap in my ankle. I felt pain immediately but kept on going with the test.
Two days later, the podiatrist suggested I had probably ruptured the peroneal tendon and ordered an MRI, which soon after, confirmed it.
The funds that I hope to raise will go towards the expense of the surgery, which is estimated to cost $23,000, which does not include the surgeon's fee, nor the anesthesiologist fees. I haven't been able to work since the injury and will not be able to return to work for at least 4-6 months after the surgery.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your donation.
