Medical Expenses for Chad Powell

On Thursday November 12, 2020 my husband Chad Powell had and unexpected emergency. He was unresponsive and EMS was called SRMC couldn’t treat him so he was life flighted to New Hanover. He spent 2 weeks in ICU and is now in the Critical Care Unit. Chad was born with a rare birthmark called Port-Wine Stain. It is not hereditary but only occurs by chance in embryo. In some cases not all it causes Sturge Weber Syndrome(SWS). Some of the side effects are glaucoma, seizures, paralysis, headaches, etc... Unfortunately for us he has majority of these going on. There are not many cases so more test are being ran and studies are being done. Due to Covid-19 he is only allowed one visitor and they can’t stay overnight so, I am either driving to and from Lumberton or staying in a hotel room. Fortunately I have had some family to help me out but, bills have not stopped at home just because we aren’t there and, hospital bills are adding up quickly. I am creating this page to help relieve some of the financial stress in these hard times. He has no health insurance and and I am currently not working so I can be close to him or able to get to him. So, if you find it in your hearts to help us we will forever be grateful.
