PLEASE understand this is Not a routine tonsillectomy!
It is a very high risk of hemorrhaging operation because of Jazlyn’s condition. Her tonsil are both the size of gold balls, inflamed fire red & bleeding. The infections have also spread and affected her nasal airway causing the right side almost closed completely.
So this surgery is to repair both these issues but has a very high risk of hemorrhage because of her condition and that is why this is not a case of a regular tonsils removal where you go in have removed and go home with some pain meds, it is a High risk case where the Surgeon is fearful of bleeding and has requested us to be within a 10-15 min distance of hospital until she is healed.
Jazlyn King is the 16yr old daughter of Tom & Darcie.
Jazlyn has been suffering from frequent infections in her Tonsils for 10years but the last year they have been getting much worse & more frequent. She suffers now about 3-5 times a month with flare ups where the tonsils swell so much they are touching each other causing difficulty for swallowing & even breathing as it has also affected her nostrils becoming very narrow because of all the infections & virus she is having. The right side nostril narrowed so much it is almost closed. Recently things have became even worse with her condition as her tonsils have also started to bleed, so it has come to a time we had to make the difficult decision under the guidance of her top notch surgeon that Jazlyn must under go a very high risk surgery to have this taken care of right away, so to our surprise in just 2 short weeks surgery will be done.
BUT now is the hard part for us, this is going to be a costly experience for our family as we must relocate for 2-3 weeks and be within 10mins of the hospital in Moncton as she is at such an extremely high risk of hemorrhaging.
Right now it is looking like a cost of approximately $4000-5000 to cover hotel cost, parking, meals and supplies needed for her recovery.
Right now Tom is the only income for the family as Darcie has not worked in over a year as she is suffering with an autoimmune illness, so to come up with all these funds in the next 2 weeks before Jazlyn’s surgery is creating an unexpected financial burden that the family is not prepared for and that is why we don’t know what else to do but ask for help !
It kills us to have to ask but our poor girl has been so sick lately and missing so much school that she really needs this surgery Now and we as her parents are not sure how we can manage it without help.
Please know we are truly thankful to everyone that can help us help our beautiful daughter ❤️
