Chris Manley Elswick - Medical Living Expenses Fund

We have an exciting update about Chris post lung/liver transplant. Chrissy is on the beginning of her very long healing journey, but it looks like next week she will be able to move to the housing right across from the hospital while she recovers. Jim will be her full time care provider at that point. They still need our help, so please do donate to support their medical and living expenses if you can. Original Request: As most of you know, Chris (Chrissy) has been waiting for a donor for a lung/liver transplant. That day has arrived! Now the hard work begins: a multi organ transplant of this nature is rare and will require an extended hospital stay, as well as required residence in Palo Alto after the hospital release.

As you could imagine the financial needs are extensive for both Jim's travel to and from Stanford while she's hospitalized (2-3 months) and maintaining both the Palo Alto apartment (3-6 months) as well as their residence in Modesto. Additionally, Jim will need to be her full-time caregivier until they return to Modesto. Though Jim's job will be protected, California paid leave only accounts for eight weeks, and prior to this transplant Chris has been unable to work for six years due to her condition.
