Medical & Mayo Clinic expenses

I am starting a Fund Account to help our daughter Casondra, with all the expenses (Flight, car, gas, hotel, food, medical expenses) to go to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida, for a week, in a couple of weeks (a huge answer to prayer).

Casondra has struggled with severe pain, multiple health issues and hospitalization in the last couple of years that has not resulted in any clear answers or treatments.

In June she was hospitalized for bloods clots in her leg and lungs even though on blood thinners for several years (she has a genetic factor). Casondra has since been taking 2 shots a day in her stomach, which is painful and leaves her stomach bruised.

In the last year, Casondra has lost well over 100 lbs due to not being able to eat much at a time & usually resulting in vomiting it up, including blood. This has left her severely malnutritioned, exhausted, and with her blood work off the charts. More testing is needed to confirm a possible diagnosis of Gastropareses. Treatments may include medication, shocking the stomach or a feeding tube. She has been getting weekly infusions for the last month to try to build up her immune system.

Recent tests have also revealed lesions on her liver and cysts on her ovaries that still need investigated. Casondra has also struggled with multiple UTIs that required stronger antibiotics to clear up, which comes with their own side effects.

Casondra has not been able to work for months with all of her health issues, hospitalizations, testing, medications & doctor visits. This has put a great strain on their budget, not to mention all the outstanding medical bills for the last year or so, and now the expenses to go to the Mayo Clinic. Casondra’s husband, who is the sole provider, will be taking unpaid time off work to accompany her to Mayo Clinic.
