Medical Mission to treat Ukrainian Children

Since 2011 Doctors Collaborating to Help Children has sponsored medical mission to provide medical and surgical services in treating pediatric burn victims. We are preparing a medical mission for May 2023 to continue to provide treatment for injured children. Because of the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, we are collaborating with The Independent Public Health Care Facility in Leczna in Eastern Poland. Our physicians, plastic surgeons and anesthesiologists, as well as a nurse anesthetist, will evaluate Ukrainian children with severe burns and hand injuries via telemedicine, and we will select up to 35 children to be evacuated out of Ukraine to Poland for treatment and management at our partner hospital. Funds will go towards the purchase and shipment of medical supplies for 30+ surgical procedures and the postoperative care of these patients.
