Medical Missions to Mango, Togo, West Africa

Dear friends & family,
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, while working in the covid unit(s) at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, God placed a now-dear friend of mine into my life who shared the same passion as me for medical missions. Sarah has traveled to the Hospital of Hope in the past and established lifelong relationships. After months of talking about this trip, God seems to be working behind the scenes and helping it fall into place. This trip would take place January 2021 into February 2021 approximately a 31 day trip.
Togo is located in western Africa, to the east of Ghana and west of Benin and Nigeria. Hospital of Hope, in Mango, is located in the northern region of Togo. The hospital we will be volunteering in is a 66-bed major medical, surgical, and acute care facility and regional trauma center. I will be oriented and trained to work wherever I am needed within the facility. This could be medical inpatient, surgical cases, outpatient clinic exam rooms and/or treatment rooms as well as potentially working with immunizations and prenatal clinics.
Samaritan's Purse also makes the trip to Hospital of Hope, and although we will not be going with a Sam's Purse group, our mission is the same. "to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we provide compassionate healthcare in His name." We will be staying off of the local compound in the town of Mango for our time in Togo with a local friends of Sarah's.

Ever since my vision trip with Kind Human/Human Kind to Uganda, instilling clean water wells in November 2019, Africa has held a very special place in my heart. However, whether the funds become available and it happens or not, I am simply trying to be intentional and authentic in following my faith and not remain complacent.
