Medical Plight of Chris Harris

My name is Janice Culmer and I am an accounting student attending North Carolina A&T State University. Family is very important to me and we would do everything in our power to make sure everyone is good. So creating this GoFundMe campaign was a must in this situation.
This week, on Monday April 16th, 2018, my 29 year old cousin, Christopher Harris went to vacation in Puerto Rico with his girlfriend. The plan was to take a short 4 day vacation in Puerto Rico and relax. However, shortly upon arriving, he suffered a stroke which led to brain hemorrhaging. Due to limited resources and other factors on the island, it took him several hours to receive medical attention. The effects from the stroke caused him to have paralysis.
At the hospital, his girlfriend was able to contact his mother, Debbie Harris, to give the news. She was fortunately able to fly there immediately from Brooklyn, New York, and she is now there with his sister, Celiah and our cousin, Abria. The side effects from the stroke were worse than anticipated and he continued to have hemorrhaging. He was very unstable for two days while doctors tried to locate the bleeding so they can seal it. God willingly, they were able to locate the bleeding Wednesday and scheduled surgery to seal the fluid Thursday morning. The procedure went well and the bleeding ceased, but his condition is still unstable. Medical care has required him to stay in Puerto Rico for a minimum of 4 weeks, until he is strong enough to fly back to New York where he will undergo further treatment. His mother, Debbie, will remain in Puerto Rico during this time frame.
My family has realized that the expenses of his mother and sister to be able to stay with him may run out of their budget, so we decided to create this GoFundMe campaign; so Chris can continue to have have his family by his side during this challenging time.
All proceeds will go directly to his mother for his 5 year old daughter, Madison, travel/hotel arrangements, food and any future medical expenses that may not be covered by insurance. We ask for your continuous support and prayers for our family. And we will continue to keep this campaign updated throughout his journey to recovery.
Thank you
