*Update on James Road to Recovery*
Thank you so much Everyone for your prayers, love and support throughout James recovery, God bless!! Thank God, to God be all the Glory! We're blessed, God is so good, God has performed so many miracles on James body, James is doing better/making progress than 1 year ago after his massive stroke and he still has a road ahead to completely recover fully. Hello Everyone, I am Schantalyn Dickens my Family and I are asking for help for my Husband James that had a massive stroke on 1/5/24, we are asking for help in any way to be able to continue to provide his medical care needs and to help with transitioning James back at our home to finish recovering fully. James is currently still receiving medical care/treatment at a skilled nursing facility, unfortunately all of his therapies have been stopped because of exhausting health insurance benefits and he will be discharged to complete his recovery at home. My Family and I are asking for help in any way to be able to bring James back to our home to be back with our Family after being in the hospital for over a year and also to finish fully recovering when he is discharged to return home. James will still need to receive 24/7 medical care/treatment from Doctors, Nurses, CNA's, physical, speech and occupational therapy at home and hopefully outpatient therapy at the Shephard Center in Atlanta. James wasn't able to start all of his therapies right away because of multiple medical emergency surgeries and new medical chronic conditions from his stroke that caused delays from him being able to receive intense therapy. James is a strong fighter he is fighting hard to live and want to put in the work needed to get back to having his independence, it's heartbreaking to see the fight in him and they have stopped all of his therapies We are asking for help with having an accessible home for James, he is in a wheelchair, will need assistance with purchasing a mobility van, equipment and any everything else that isn't covered through his health plan, there is a long waitlist for the Georgia Medicaid waivers to provide assistance when he returns home, James doesn't qualify for Medicare because he is under 65 and will need to wait two years from when he had a stroke to receive Medicare. When I first met James I saw and knew he has a big heart of love for Everyone, full of life, hard working man, loves all of our Children, Family and Friends. James is the best Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend to many. James is my Superman, I have so much love and respect for him, he has helped me from the very beginning of our relationship to love, care and provide for our special needs Daughter that have multiple chronic conditions and needs full time care. While on his road to recovery, I am asking if you can please donate whatever you can to help relieve some of the financial costs as he recovers and please share his Go Fund Me page. We’re trusting and believing God for his speedy recovery, God is in control. Please continue keep James and our Family in your prayers, God bless❤️
My Husband James and I are newlyweds, we got married on 11/26/24, 45 days after getting married James had a massive stroke on January 5th 2024 at 3:00am. Thank God he was still able to talk and let me know he couldn’t feel his left side, speech was slurred, and he started vomiting. While I was praying over him, I immediately call 911 and he was showing all the signs of a stroke. Immediately after arriving at the emergency room a CT scan was done it showed James suffered a massive stroke on the right side of his brain, he was intubated before being air lifted to a trauma hospital to have emergency surgery to remove a clot in his carotid artery and a stent was placed to prevent further clotting. The stent was placed in the artery and didn’t stop the clotting. Unfortunately James started having increased swelling/bleeding a few days later and had a second emergency surgery to remove the bone from his skull to prevent brain damage, after both surgeries he was placed in ICU fighting for his life. James had a third surgery to place a Trach for breathing and a feeding tube in his stomach. All Glory to God for all the miracles he has done on James body, he is making progress everyday on his road to recovery. The medical bill for just being in ICU is over 1 million and he was recently moved to a long term care hospital to continue medical care and start intensive rehab, all of the medical bills is already over 2.5 million and will continue to increase as he recovers. While on his road to recovery fully, I am asking if you can please donate whatever you can to help relieve some of the financial costs as he recovers and please share his Go Fund Me page. We’re trusting and believing God for his speedy recovery, God is in control. Please keep James and our Family in your prayers, God bless❤️
