Medical Recovery Support for Michael J. Grimes
Donation protected
On December 12, 2023, Retired Firefighter Michael Grimes was undergoing routine medical testing when he experienced a sudden cardiac arrest event that stopped his heart and left him on life support for two days in a medically-induced hypothermic state.
In true "Christmas miracle" fashion, Michael was gradually warmed and weaned off the ventilator successfully, with nearly all his memory, basic brain functions, and personality in tact. However, the trauma of the neurological/cardiac event has left him with noteworthy physical challenges he will need to overcome on his path to recovery.
The mental and physical recovery he is undergoing is also a source of significant costs for him and his wife Julia, including an extended stay at a rehabilitation center, insurance deductibles, and a retrofit/remodel of their home bathroom and bedroom required to allow him to come home once his residential rehab stay is complete.
We ask that you consider offering your support to Michael and Julia during this time of healing and recovery with any level of donation you are able to lend in their time of greatest need.
