Medical relief for our mother, Dana Klitzner
Donation protected
Hi! We are Chase, Abby, and Brennen Klitzner, and we are asking for donations to help us pay for our mother's medical expenses.
Over the last 5+ years, our mother's health has been slowly declining. It all started with some back and feet issues that seemed to get progressively worse, and with no diagnosis of the issue. In that time, our father died by suicide, putting a halt on any potential progress and causing enormous emotional and financial strain. As we dealt with the consuming grief of our father's passing, we began to watch our mother's health decline more and more. Getting out of bed started to become difficult for her; putting on her own clothes, driving a car, and anything that would give a healthy person in their 50's some feeling of independence.
We saw many doctors during this time (neurologists, rheumatologists, orthopedists, spinal surgeons). You name it, we saw it. She took various medications and received several spinal injections for the chronic nerve pain, but nothing seemed to work.
We (her 3 children) have become her 24-hour caretakers, helping her get through each day and perform daily functions. Decent health insurance has become unaffordable, making the out-of-pocket expenses extremely high.
After much consideration, we decided to seek out-of-network doctors in hopes of getting to the bottom of the issue. Fortunately, through months of visits, our mother has officially been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. This disease, with the correct treatments, is manageable, and she will go on to live a normal, full functioning, and healthy life.
Unfortunately, these doctors and treatments come at a heavy expense. This is why we are asking for $8,000 to help us cover doctor's visits, physical therapy, medications, at-home care, and any other treatments not covered under health insurance. We are hopeful that this is a step in the right direction, and we thank anyone willing to donate.
