Medical Relief for the Burley Family
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Pamela Stewart. Bekah Burley is one of my best friends. I started this fundraiser to help support their family with medical bills throughout this journey. The funds raised will be used towards those expenses. Boyce was in the ICU for three weeks and spent four days in hospice until he passed. I would like to get these funds over to the family as quickly as possible. GoFundMe is requiring me to put a note in about who I am and what the money is intended for in order to proceed with that final step. Also, here is some information regarding the Celebration of Life for Boyce and his Obituary.
If you feel compelled to do more for the family - gift cards are very much appreciated. Some of their favorite foods are: Canes's, Red Lobster, Noodles, Freddy's and Human Bean. Even King Soopers Gift Cards are appreciated. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your continued generosity and support!
Boyce Byron Burley, IV peacefully left us on November 23, 2023 after three weeks in ICU and four days in hospice. He has left behind a loving wife, daughter, parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless friends who will miss him tremendously.
Boyce was born to parents, Boyce and Marie on November 29, 1979 in Great Falls, MT. As the son of an Air Force Officer, Boyce had many amazing opportunities to travel the world with his family. Boyce graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Political Science.
Boyce was an accomplished musician, friend to all and had an incredible heart for the Lord. We will miss his bright smile, his caring heart, his laugh, his love of football, his political conversations and so much more.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 1st at 1:00 PM at Faith Church, 3920 S Shields, Fort Collins, CO 80526.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to defray the cost of Boyce’s medical bills would be greatly appreciated via donation through GoFundMe.

Hello Friends & Family! Your generosity has been astounding!!! We are so grateful for all the love and support you have given the Burley family in their time of need. I wanted to post an update on Boyce's progress as of today and give some more support options. If you would like to send a meal gift card, gas or grocery gift card to the Burleys you can do so via Bekah's email address: [email redacted]. You can also contact me directly for any questions: [email redacted]. Please let me know if you need more support connecting with the family in another way. I am happy to help! Here is Bekah's update as of today.
After spending 13 LONG days in the ICU we are celebrating a victory today (11/15/23), Boyce is out of the ICU and now in the Progressive Care unit. Unfortunately, he is still in a lot of pain though. The surgeon said there is really no air/gas moving out of his colon and nothing coming out of the tube draining from his gallbladder which he’s a little concerned about but also knows what terrible condition everything is in so we have to continue to wait/watch things.
He had a tunnel catheter put in this morning for long term dialysis. This catheter should be less prone to infection. Blood work is looking better but still not much in the normal range but overall, slowly improving. His liver and kidney functions are about the same and unfortunately, we are looking at the possibility that he will need the colostomy bag for the rest of his life. So much to process.
As of now, I feel like we still have more questions than answers but are grateful that we still have Boyce. As so many of you know, his journey has been a hard road and as I have walked that road with him, it is easy to become weary. Through all of the exhaustion, tears and frustration, we have felt your prayers and support. I wish I could hug each and every one of you so you know how deeply we think of you when we count our blessings. Boyce still has a long road to go and we will continue to keep you updated as you walk with us.

Friends & Family,
I wanted to reach out to you because Boyce has been in the ICU for the past 9 days.
About 4 weeks ago he noticed some swelling in his ankles. Being the stubborn man that he is, he didn’t want to go to the doctor to get it checked out. He wanted to try to get it better at home. Well it got much worse and spread up both his legs. Last Thursday morning he was struggling to breathe so we went to the ER.
Once in the ER they found his potassium levels were dangerously high, infection in his colon (attaching to other organs), fluid in his lungs and his kidney and liver failing. He was admitted to the ICU where we have been since Thursday (11/2).
At this point, not much has changed. He has been on dialysis since coming into the ICU to help his kidneys; undergone so many tests, MRI’s, CAT Scans and ultrasounds. Still more questions than answers unfortunately.
We have no idea how much longer he will be in the ICU and if he does make it out of the ICU, we don’t know what his quality of life will be.
As you can imagine, extended time in the ICU PLUS dialysis (with the possibility of long term dialysis) is going to be a huge financial burden on top of Boyce most likely not being able to return to work. If he can't return to work then we lose our insurance. We are also in the midst of our daughter Brooklyn’s diabetes diagnosis and the financial strain this has added to our life.
Our sweet friend Pam wanted to start this GoFund me page to help support us. We are thankful for each of you!!!
