Dan Mager- The long road to recovery
Donation protected
Greetings everyone,
While this is not exactly the way I would like to reach out to you all this evening here we are so let’s get to the details...
As of this posting you may or may not be aware but my dear friend Dan Mager was in a very serious motorcycle accident on the evening of Sunday July 14th while riding on his Harley on Route 100 in Wardsboro VT.
As a result of the crash, Dan sustained serious injuries to his head, arms, neck and back and had to be airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock medical center in critical condition.
As of today, (Tuesday, July 16th) his condition has been upgraded from critical to stable; however the extent of his injuries (especially the head trauma) is still up in the air. From what I understand he has undergone one surgery to repair extensive damage to one of his arms and the last I knew he was awaiting an MRI to gain a better idea of the extent of the head trauma. I will do my best to keep this page updated as time goes on, but because I am not his immediate family, the access I have to his situation is limited. In the mean time, your prayers, well wishes and encouragement are most certainly welcome.
Obviously, the purpose of this Go Fund Me campaign is to help Dan with the financial hurdles he is going to face on his long road to recovery. Not only will there be substantial medical bills and rehab, but his ability to work is going to be nonexistent for an extended period while he recovers.
For those of you that have had the pleasure of knowing Dan over the years I don’t need to spend much time explaining to you the type of person he is. For those of you who don’t know Dan he is a very proud, selfless, loyal friend and Father who does not mix words; nor does he have much of a capacity to ask for help when he needs it. As a result, I am quite sure he will probably be pissed at me when he finds out I’ve set this up...
However that is something I am willing to deal with, once he is fully recovered and back to being the Dan that we all know and love.
Thank you all for your time and support, it is greatly appreciated.
Travis
