Medical Support for Molly Dooley

Donation protected

Tragically, on December 4th, Molly was involved in a freak accident caused by a fire that happened in a matter of minutes. This accident occurred when Molly tried to blow out a candle, and her beautiful long curly hair caught flame resulting in 2nd and 3rd-degree burns. She was immediately rushed to the hospital and treated. She has had one skin graft surgery so far, and we are awaiting further information while staying in a burn center to see if there will need more. While we are grateful this accident was not more severe; we cannot ignore the impending hardships it will leave their family with. With financial circumstances already being extensively difficult following the death of Molly’s father in 2020, Lynne is now left out of work indefinitely as she aids in healing Molly. Lynne is one of the strongest individuals, and unconditionally loving mothers I have ever met. She refuses to care about the finances in times like this, which is exactly why she needs this help.

If you’ve met Molly, you know she is the epitome of someone smiling through pain. Molly is a 16-year-old who has a diagnosis of Autism and Tourette syndrome with minimal verbal skills. While being confronted with challenges at birth, she had the support of a loving family around her. Unfortunately, this has been stripped away from her with the death of her father just two years ago. This had placed tremendous hardships on Molly’s life not only for the aspect of losing her best friend and loving father, yet the stress and hardships this had placed on her mother, Lynne. Raising a special needs child can be very difficult, even with both parents. Now Molly has one. While this has proven to be extremely tough on Lynne, she has proven to be more resilient than ever. Even with money tight amidst all the chaos, she still makes time to always come home with a smile, as this attitude is projected onto her child. As I mentioned, smiling through the pain. Although, a downfall of being overly strong is the inability to ask for help, even when you need it most. Occasionally, it is the responsibility of close friends to ensure help reaches their loved ones, and this is one of those times. If you are able, please consider sharing this fundraising effort or donating to help with the financial hardship that is sure to come.
