Stroke recovery medical support Yannick Grelet
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Annick Aboya, I will be running the London 2023 Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 8th to raise fund for our colleague and friend Yannick Grelet to recover from stroke.
Yannick is a husband and father to 3 young children: 6 y/o ,4y/o & 5 months old. Last year, Yannick suddenly experienced a major stroke while on a plane en route to a family holiday. He received emergency surgery on arrival and very quickly regained all physical movement as well memory. However he has been left with lingering speech loss and is unable to work and is no longer receiving enough support from the NHS.
Yannick has been offered a place on a private intensive therapy programme known as ICAP, Intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Service for patients with poststroke Aphasia. The programme cost £15,000 and Yannick’s family are trying to raise this money in time for him to start the programme.
This programme will give Yannick the best possible chance to make significant improvements in his speech.
Yannick's family would appreciate any support to reach this goal so that Yannick can move forward in his recovery and care for his young family again. The family have currently raised £2000.
See attached the studies and video for more details on ICAP
Thank you for your generosity and wish me luck for the half marathon -:)
Kind regards - Annick
