Medical fund for Les Williams and family
Donation protected
Hey! My name is Carrie Nelson, I am a resident of Hunter and our families are good friends with Les, his wife, Kristi and their son Kayden!
Les and Kristi are fairly new to the Hunter community again but have lived here in the past. Les is employed at Degelman Industries in Hillsboro, ND. Kristi has worked a few jobs in the Hunter area since moving back, including the Hunter C&I, cleaning homes around town and most recently having started at Casey's in Hillsboro. Together Les and Kristi have a son, Kayden, who is a freshman at Northern Cass School. Les also has 2 adult children, Tristan and Sidney.
We have created this fundraiser to help with the loss of wages, travel expenses, food, and the upcoming expenses from the hospital stay.
On Sunday, December 11th, Les started coming down with cold-like symptoms and at that time had tested negative for COVID. On Wednesday, December 14th, Kristi and Kayden reached out to me and asked if I could come over and check Les out(I am an EMT for Hunter Ambulance) because he still was not feeling well and he was having some difficulties breathing. Considering the condition he was in and how the current weather was, we decided it was best to call the ambulance and head to the hospital to get checked out!
It was determined that Les had COVID-related pneumonia, was admitted to the ICU, heavily sedated and had a breathing tube placed. He was also battling sepsis and a high fever. Overnight on December 15th, Les had a heart attack and it was found that he had 70% blockage so a stent was placed.
As of the morning of December 21st, they have slowly been decreasing the sedation medications with the hope of removing the breathing tube today or tomorrow!
At this time, the medical staff is still unsure of how long Les will need to remain in the hospital or what the future holds and he may have a long road of recovery ahead of him!
Les, Kristi and their families are continuously asking for your prayers and positive thoughts. They would also like to send a huge THANK YOU to all that have reached out or helped out so far and in advance!
If you would rather donate locally, there has also been an account set up at Dakota Heritage Bank in Hunter as the "Leslie J Williams Benefit". Donations can be made at ANY Dakota Heritage Bank Branch.
We will do our best to keep you update and again THANK YOU in advance for all the love and support! The family greatly appreciates it!
