Help Rebecca
I’ve never done a GoFundMe page before.
I’m doing this for my best friend.
Any woman who has a daughter they love. Any man who wishes they treated a woman better. Anybody who had a friend they wanted to help but needed a group/ a community to help. This is your time to help. Help Rebecca.
She has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever met. I believe it was destiny that we met. However, this last year has been extremely hard on her. Just when she thought life was going good it took a turn for the worst.
She started having seizures.
She had just started a new job and needed a car to get to and from work. Anyone living in the Midwest would know you need a car to go anywhere. Public transportation is almost non-existing.
Her first seizure came when she was driving to work in her new car. Luckily a Good Samaritan stopped and helped her. Luckily no one was killed.
In and out of the hospital she went through a bad breakup with a man who she loved and would do anything for. I think the stress caused her health to deteriorate and influenced her health decline.
Soon there after, She thought she had had control of life. She found her first place of her own. She now had a car where she could go to and from work. This was great for her. She was Miss Independent! However, with her seizures she was not to drive until it showed signs of getting better.
Everything was looking good. She was proving to the world and to herself that she could be independent. That she didn’t need anyone to do anything for her. She was happy. She had freedom to do and be who she wanted to be.
However, a close friend of hers that liked her for awhile asked her on a date. She eventually broke down and gave in to him. Only to be let down again. This time the breakup came at her bedside while she was in ICU after another seizure. I believe this escalated a decline in her mental health. She was giving life everything she had. Only to be disappointed by those closest and dearest to her.
Unfortunately after this seizure, she started having more and more. While she was at work she had one. She fell on the floor and became unconscious. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital where she had an extensive stay to determine where these seizures were coming from... This put her in jeopardy at work and eventually lead to her termination. Her friend at work contacted me because she had me as her emergency contact. I now live halfway across the country and couldn’t be there to help and I feel terrible for that.
Everything that she had started to build on her own was slowly crumbling away. The doctors bills, the car payment, the new apartment where she just signed a lease. The furniture she credited so she’d have a bed to sleep on. Everything she was proud of was slowly disappearing. She recently moved home with her parents who recently had to sell her childhood home due to unfortunate circumstances. Everything, literally everything she knew was falling down. However, she still held strong and had hope for a brighter future.
It broke my heart that this was/is happening to someone I love. I called her today only to hear her cry. It hurts that I can’t be there to help her in her time of need.
About a week and a half ago, I was informed by her mother that she had had a terrible seizure again. This time much worse than the countless ones prior. She had bleeding on the brain and was in ICU for almost a week. Her mother sent me a picture of her to help me understand her condition. I cried when I saw it. It broke my heart. My beautiful, best friend was unrecognizable. She appeared as if someone beat her and left her for dead. I was scared and prayed every night for her to get better. I called my family and asked them to do the same. We had a prayer chain going and she was constantly in our thoughts and prayers.
I’m hoping by creating this page, we ALL can help her get self back. Hopefully get these bills taken care of, help her find her confidence again, STOP these unexpected seizures and bring her back to life. Possibly help her move to the east coast to me so I can show her that she’s the BEST and life gets BETTER!!!
We once joked about being “Rebound King” and “Rebound Queen” after thinking about all life’s hardships. It always gets better we told ourselves. And I truly believe that. Help me, help her. Together we can.
