Medieval Student Film Fundraiser: Costumes and Props

A knight and his squire, lost in the woods, find an abbey that is festive and filled with life. When they enter, a table is dressed with tasty food, but no one is inside. The knight, always cruel to his squire, refuses to share the meal with him. Night falls and as they sleep the knight is woken by a an enchanting song, which he follows into the darkness. Moments later, the squire wakes up to his master’s laughter. He grabs the knight’s sword in case of danger and follows the laughter. He finds his master sitting in a dark chamber, being fed rotten food by a decaying siren. In a tense moment, the squire remembers the knight’s mistreatment, and decides to take the sword and leave his master, vulnerable, to his cruel fate.

We are a small group of second year VFX students at ARTFX, and are trying to create period accurate medieval short film. The film will be 5 minutes long, with visuals inspired by Nosferatu (2024) and The Green Knight (2021). We have confirmed filming locations such as the Abbaye de Gellone and the Abbaye de Montmajour. However, we need to secure a budget for the rental of time period accurate costume and props.
