Medway High School Track Project
Donation protected
The Issue
The track at Medway High School is original to the school's opening in 1949. Today it is overgrown with vegetation and is of limited use for training, intramural or competitive meets. In fact, track athletes are often having to pay to access outside facilities to train.
What we’re doing about it
The Ilderton & District Lions have taken on the task of raising funds to build a new 6-Lane Synthetic Track at the School. Through the generosity of the community, the Lions have raised sufficient funds to build the new track, long/triple jump and pole vault and most of the high jump area. The Thames Valley District School Board is putting in a new field for football, soccer and rugby. However, an additional $50,000 is needed to finish the high jump area with the synthetic coating.
Ground breaking for the track will be in June 2018.
