Meet Jim Frank - A life changed because of a text

Donation protected

I am writing to you today to bring attention to a dear friend of mine, who is going through an incredibly difficult time. Jim is a 67-year-old senior citizen who was hit by a woman driving with a suspended license and texting. She rear ended him at 45 miles per hour while he was waiting at a red light. So hard that three additional cars were hit throwing him over to opposing traffic. The accident resulted in serious injuries for him, multiple hospital stays, surgeries, and a long road to recovery. Being in a wheelchair is not what he imagined his life would be to a guy who used to walk 8-10 miles a day.

Jim's life has been turned upside down by this tragic event. He has been unable to work for the past year nor will he likely ever again. But his medical bills continue to pile up. He has faced many complications from the accident including spinal surgeries, cognitive issues, a wound on his ankle that requires painful skin grafts and vascular surgeries to save his foot. He now has balance issues causing falls, several serious episodes of a new condition, AFib, including several hours of heart "pauses" which was scary for his family then finally, a heart attack (with another surgery for that). Then, just days after coming home last week Jim was rushed in an ambulance AGAIN, this time to treat pneumonia and more heart complications. No wonder the guy is worried all the time!

On top of all of this, Jim's wife's business has suffered a 90% decrease for two years during the pandemic which she just began to recover from. The guilt from not being able to contribute has crushed my friend in ways you and I couldn't begin to imagine.

As someone who knows Jim well, I can tell you that he is one of the kindest and most selfless people you will ever meet. He is always there for others, offering support and prayers, and never asking for anything in return, responding in kind, "No worries". He is a true saint, and it breaks my heart to see him going through such a challenging time. He is facing more time in the hospital, now has 13 doctors and half of the family income will no longer be there for his family of three. I felt I finally had to do something!

To help Jim and his family during this challenging time, I have set up a crowdfunding campaign to help cover his medical bills, living costs, and other essential expenses. Your contribution can make a difference in Jim's life, allowing him to focus on his recovery without worrying about financial burdens so we can finally say to him, "Jim, don't worry about it".

Thank you for your kindness and generosity. All of the money gets deposited directly to Jim.

Sincerely,
Linda Abraham
