“Meeting McKenzie Walton”A Journey That Started August 1st 2023 For The Waltons. As We Conceived Our Miracle Child Our Family Was Stunned As We Announced The Coming Of Our Baby,My Wife And I Had Already Came Up With Names whether it Was Boy Or Girl. Days Started To Progress My Wife Had A Moment Around 5weeks Scared That We Was Losing Our Child Cause She Bled In Didn’t Know Why,Doctors Told Her Everthing Was Fine And Put Her On Bed Rest,Everything Was Good When Tests Came Back So We Proceeded In The Pregnancy. Gender Reveal Came Up We Revealed We Was Having A Boy As We Celebrated With Family & Friends Was Blessed With Happy Moments And Gifts And At This Point Our Baby Was Healthy Remained Healthy Throughout Our Pregnancy Got Our Delivery Date Which Was Set To March 26 2024 Unfortunately That Day Came A Lil Early For Us As We Prepared To Meet Our Baby Boy Life Suddenly Hit Our Family With A Unexpected Turn A Beautiful Baby Girl……McKenzie Lee Ann Walton Arrived on March 17th 2024 Being Delivered At 37weeks 5 days Weighing 10 Pounds Entered The World Not Breathing At All they worked on her for two hours before they told us that we should say our goodbyes because she was not going to make it and they were going to transport her to Children’s Hospital and told our family that she wasn’t gone make transportation the moment she was transported into that helicopter she immediately started showing progress she was put on so many machines to help her breath and the doctors proceeded to run their test they ran genetics test on her parents and came to the conclusion that she had trisomy 13 a rare condition that babies are born with that gives them a short life on top of discovering that she developed her heart on the right side of her body two extra fingers and pressure in her lungs and from that moment the doctors asked us what did we want for McKenzie we told them we just want to bring her home to be with her siblings and to be with our family this last 12 weeks have been mentally ,physically ,emotionally draining on all of us so many ups and downs and some set backs but still McKenzie is a fighter she’s fighting everyday off Love to be here with us and shocking these doctors with her progress we are at a stand still because we are near to her coming home after some procedures that’s to come which is a tracheostomy and a Gtube for feeding and probably a ventilator we currently stay with family In the house we in is not suitable for her to be there because it is an older house and they told us if we can’t find a new home that will be suitable for all the equipment that she will be coming home with, they will send her to a hospice care facility and will be left there to die. So we are now at a point where we have to reach out and ask for extended help so that we can get our baby home in our care anything is appreciated we just wanna bring our baby girl home so we can love on her and keep her striving I know god has plans for our baby girl she’s so special she is more than trisomy 13.
