Hi, my name is Megan. I am 14 years of age. I am raising funds to help me on my journey to become an Olympic Archer.
I am part of the Archery GB Conversion Academy and have been shooting with the National Academy squad since I was 10.
Archery is my passion. It is something that I love doing. It has put me on the pathway to achieving my goals of becoming an International Archer and shooting for my Country, and, hopefully, becoming an Olympic Archer one day.
Competing drives me to train and become the best Archer I can be. My age does not hold me back. I constantly challenge myself and push forward to compete at the highest level.
A typical week in my life is to shoot around 1000 arrows. I train to build up my strength, and I participate in conditioning sessions, yoga, prehab workouts, cardiovascular workouts, school work, and a little downtime.
Last year, I began my international journey, representing Great Britain in the European Youth Cup, in Bucharest, where I ranked 9th overall. This year I competed in the European Youth Cup and Youth Championships against the top European U18 Cadets and finished 5th overall in the European Cup standings.
My long-term goal is to be able to shoot at the Youth Olympics in 2026; not an easy task but having these goals pushes me to be the best athlete I can be.
I understand what it takes to be an elite athlete and know that all this hard work and dedication will lead to my dream of shooting at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
I want to raise funds to help me reach my goals and to be able to continue on my journey. I hope to be selected for the European and World Junior Championships next year, but this requires a substantial financial burden upon my parents to afford this level of competition. I hope to help them by raising funds for coaching and equipment and travel to reach these events.
Raising these funds is essential to help me progress in my training and be competitive at a higher level.
