Megan Jensen Fund Emmaus House Catholic Worker

Donation protected
Emmaus House Catholic Worker had the privilege of living with Megan from the beginning of March 2023 to her passing. For the last 11 years Emmaus House has offered hospitality to those we have encountered in Chicago in the tradition of Dorothy Day. Our house chooses not to have any legal entity in the spirit of personalism believing that it is every person's personal responsibility to care for those around us; instead we fund all of our expenditures through the incomes of the permanent workers who live here. At the current moment our hospitality involves caring for migrants being bussed to Chicago, providing free housing in our home for 3 to 4 people at a time, and building community in our home and on our block. In the spirit of mutuality, Megan participated in hospitality while she resided with us, both helping drop off supplies for migrants and enjoying meals that our new migrant friends cooked for us. Any donations made in Megan's honor will be dedicated towards furthering our ability to provide hospitality to those around us.
