Megan Saari Memorial Scholarship Fund

UPDATE 1.10 - The Saari family is touched and overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from friends and family that will enable this scholarship to be set up in Megan's name. Saint Mary's is working with the family to set up the scholarship and has told them that if $50,000 is donated, the scholarship will become part of their endowment fund and be given out in perpetuity, rather than a more short-term scholarship that would last until funds are exhausted. Given this news, and based on the response from the community that helped us exceed the initial goal, we are updating the fundraising goal and continuing to keep the GoFundMe open. ORIGINAL POST 12.23 - Please join us in honoring the memory of our beloved Megan Saari. Megan was a beautiful soul – loving and caring to everyone she knew. Megan passed unexpectedly on December 19 and the loss has left her family, friends and community deeply saddened. Megan would have graduated from Saint Mary’s College in the spring of 2022, with a degree in Justice, Community and Leadership and a concentration in Multiple Subject Teacher Education and had plans to become a teacher. We know that Megan would have made an outstanding teacher; she had a love of children along with strength and leadership that she used in a quiet and compassionate manner.

 

Megan loved her studies, teachers and friends at Saint Mary’s and her family would like to celebrate the life she built there by establishing a scholarship in her name. This scholarship would assist students at Saint Mary’s in the Teacher Education concentration. Our goal is to raise $25,000 in order to support other students in their journey towards becoming teachers.
