Megan’s Polycystic Kidney and Liver Disease Battle
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Darlene and I am fundraising for a very dear friend of mine, Megan Carlson who has a rare genetic disease called, Polycystic Kidney Disease, also known as PKD. Polycystic Kidney Disease affects the kidneys size and function which can also spread to other organs, which in Megan’s case, it has. The disease is in the advance stage and Megan is currently on the waiting list for a life saving kidney and liver transplant.
Over the last ten years since the diagnosis, Megan has been bravely fighting the horrible symptoms of the disorder while homeschooling, her two children, Landon and Lexi, and working part time to help her husband Steven with expenses. Now that Megan is on a transplant list, her and the family are temporarily relocating to Arizona where she can be close to the Mayo Clinic in case she receives the blessings of a donor.
Polycystic Kidney Disease has had a detrimental impact on Megan and her family, mentally, physically, and financially. Through all of this, Megan has always kept a positive attitude while living life to the fullest with her friends and family.
This fundraiser was created to help prevent any added stress to an already stressful situation for the Carlson family. The funds raised through gofundme will assist Megan and her family with medical bills and expenses while waiting for a donor. All donations, and shares, are greatly appreciated, thank you for your support.
Updates on Megan’s progress will be shared here.
