Megan's Treatment Assistance Fund

My dear friend Megan has been fighting for her life over the past couple of months. Megan spent several months in hospice care this year as her body shut down after suffering with a severe eating disorder for 23 years. In September, Megan made the brave decision to fight for a life in full recovery and was taken by air ambulance to ACUTE, a hospital unit in Denver, CO that specializes in saving the lives of those most medically-compromised by eating disorders. Megan spent almost two months receiving life-saving care at ACUTE before moving to an inpatient eating disorder unit at Eating Recovery Center in Denver to continue her treatment.

Following her inpatient treatment, Megan hopes to return home to San Diego to finish her treatment process near her support system. In order to do so, Megan does need some financial assistance and she is struggling to ask for it.

Megan is a nurse and spent COVID caring for sick children in the ER at Rady Children’s Hospital and caring for trauma patients at UCSD Medical Center. She is truly one of the most caring people I know and has such a beautiful life of impact ahead of her. Megan simply needs some help getting there.

Any financial assistance provided through this fundraiser would go directly towards Megan’s return flight to California, copays for the treatment she will complete in Colorado and California, and transportation costs (such as gas, tires for her car) for when she needs to get herself to and from day treatment in San Diego.
