Mehinaku Pandemic Protection

Mehinaku friends in the Xinguano Amazon have asked for help in raising funds to prepare their community for the Covid 19 Pandemic. It is well known now that the virus has disastrously entered the villages of the forest, and now the Upper Xingu area where the Mehinaku live. Contaminated medical teams and other groups from the government have brought the disease to some of the most isolated areas. A few days ago the magnificent Yawalapiti Chief Aritana, nicknamed ‘the King’ for his kindness, wisdom and powers succumbed to the Corona virus, sending shockwaves through the Xingu.  Maykuti Mehinako is asking for help to buy masks and natural anti-viral medications for his people.
