Help Meika in her fight with cancer

Donation protected
Meika has started her battle with Cancer.

The next 12 months are going to be very emotional, stressful, angry and a sad rollercoaster of emotions for Tegan, Kaylem, Archer (2 yrs of age), Daisy (4 months of age) and especially for meika.
This young family’s world was turned upside down in an instant and the timing couldn’t have been worse - a week before Christmas.

It is every parent’s worst nightmare seeing their child so sick and frightened, and then having to undergo chemotherapy.

To provide Meika with the love and support, cuddles and kisses she needs so she doesn’t have to fight this battle alone, Tegan will need to spend long periods of time away from her young family.

Moving off the farm may be their only option as during chemo Meika needs to stay away from dirt or any unsafe conditions as she will be highly prone to infection.

Dealing with financial pressures whilst keeping strong for Meika will not be easy for the family, and while we can’t take any of Meika’s pain away we CAN come together and help to ease those pressures.

Please join us, Team Meika so we can help this beautiful family and provide a little comfort during this difficult time.

Tegan writes to below:

“She has rhabdomyosarcoma. It presented as a droopy eyelid, headaches and generally unwell. Taken to the doctors for tummy pains told it was anxiety.

The mass was removed very quickly. The doctors wanted it out within a matter of hours as they didnt want it to spread anywhere else.

It's a very aggressive cancer. If found early its treatable.

Its been almost a month since my beautiful, energetic, healthy 9 year old was diagnosed.

This is what it looks like when your world is turned upside down, crushed into a million pieces, shaken to the core. There isn't really any way to accurately describe it.

There's been vomit, tears, begging it to stop because I can't take it anymore. The multiple surgeries. The sympathetic looks. The doctors and nurses that pile into the room at a moments notice. My child looking at me trying to read my face to see if what they are saying is good or bad news. The million drugs pumping into my babies body to try and stop the pain and nausea.

This shit sucks. It sucks big time.

We've just finished the 1st round of chemotherapy. She vomited until she had nothing left. She cried and cried and cried. Asked me why does it have to be so hard, I can't do this. Heartbroken doesnt even come close.

But one thing about my little fighter is certain. She will beat this. Her positive and funny words run through my head every day.”
