Meiners Oaks Community Garden

Welcome to Meiners Oaks Community Garden! MOCG is a 7500 sq ft property located in the center of the bustling Meiners Oaks, just a few miles from downtown Ojai, California. The property started as a vacant piece of land that we are now turning into a garden oasis that everyone can enjoy.

It wouldn't be a COMMUNITY garden without the support of the community. Please consider donating today so we can achieve our goal of being open to the public this spring!

Our mission is to create an inclusive outdoor space that fosters a sense of community and encourages urban gardening and food accessibility. We hope to empower our members to grow their food locally, connect with their neighbors, and engage our youth out in nature. We are excited to create a space where people can come to enjoy fresh air, have fun, and learn a new skill.

The current plan is to have 38 raised beds that members can rent out biannually for a small fee to grow their own plants and produce. We have already made so much progress clearing out the land. We've removed trees and used them to mulch the property. We've also taken down the old fence, replaced it with a shiny new one, and installed a driveway.

Our next phase is to build the garden! This involves installing an irrigation system, selecting plants for our native perennial garden, gathering supplies to construct the garden beds, and bringing in lots of fresh soil.
