Mel Making Memories

Thanks for taking the time to read about our gorgeous Mel Mel.

In late November 2022 Mel was diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer (only approximately 15% of all breast cancer is triple negative). Unfortunately this is an aggressive type that occurs often in younger people (Mel was only 40!) It also has a much higher chance of relapse as well as fewer treatment options.

Mel underwent treatment (chemo, surgery and radiation) throughout the remainder of 2022 and most of 2023 before moving onto regular ‘surveillance’ as is common with breast cancer treatment.

Unfortunately, after suffering some chest and hip pain in mid June this year, Mel undertook some further testing and scans and was diagnosed in early July with Metastatic Breast Cancer (Stage 4). Her cancer has spread to her lung .

Mel has now restarted treatment (Chemotherapy) to help prolong her life and give her more precious time with her husband Stu and their beautiful girls.

We have popped this gofundme together to give them an opportunity to take a bucket list holiday, together as a family, to enjoy each others company, without adding further financial stress brought about by treatment costs and general living expenses.
