Melanie Blankenship - Hurricane Ian

Hey guys, my mom and her Fort Myers Beach home was at the epicenter of Hurricane Ian. Her house and her retirement dream got washed away in one devastating night. Out of the entire house, all of her possessions are probably going to be able to fit into my SUV alone. And because of the age of the home, insurance companies would not allow her to buy hurricane insurance, so we are looking at a total loss with no way to recover. But even homeless, she still has her trademark optimistic outlook on life, so I know she’ll rebound. But on the monetary side we are going to need help from our community of friends and family. Anything donated will go towards rebuilding her a home (ideally hurricane proof and able to be insured!), as well as replacing all her possession—and she needs everything from pots and pans to tennis shoes. She spent her life giving to her family and students as a special ed teacher. I’m hoping that community is willing to give something back to her. Literally anything will help.
