Help with Melanie Hopper-Kertz Cancer Battle

Update 6-25-2023: I would like to thank everyone for helping Melanie reach the initial goal of $3500. With the news of Melanie having to miss more work I’m going to raise the new goal to $5000. Due to the support of family, friends and strangers Melanie has been able to focus on her health.

Melanie has reported some fantastic news of being cancer free! What she hasn’t said is she continues to struggle with vomiting, nausea and keeping food down; her stomach isn’t draining. I don’t know exactly what that means but thankfully the doctors do. Her medical team is working on a plan to get this corrected, but this means she cannot go back to work as quickly as she anticipated.

Continued prayers, love and support is greatly appreciated.

My “first responders” and absolute lifelines from December 5, 2022 to June 23,2023. The amount of love, care, and concern that poured out daily from these precious souls is immeasurable. Thank you from every portion of my heart.

My co-workers, and friends, thank you for the hugs, encouragement, prayers, gifts, cards, and support, also from day 1. I will be back soon!!!!

To every friend that diligently prayed for me, Lara and Charlie, Tammy, and hundreds more, I am cancer free because you know “By His Stripes we ARE Healed.”

To everyone who donated, and is still donating, thank you for the $5.00 to the $500.00. Every single dollar is appreciated more than you know. Thank you so much!!!

To my God, thank you for carrying me through!! Jesus, thank you for the blood that still flows from Calvary!! Life is worth the living, just …. because …. He ….Lives!!

Update From Melanie (took from her fb status ) 6-15-2023: PET Scan scheduled for Friday, June 16 @ 10:30. Doctor appointment schedule for Tuesday June 20 @ 10:40 to go over the results of the scan.

Hopefully, I can get a picture of the first PET scan and Friday’s scan to show you what an awesome God we do serve!! It’s going to be amazing!! Wow, I just teared up because I have envisioned this comparison for months!! Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to put you and yet another miracle on display!!! ❤️

Update 6-11-23: due to the generosity of friends, family and strangers Melanie has been able to pay her monthly bills while being off work. She has learned she doesn’t have Long Term Disability. She will be attempting to go back to work in July. She is hoping to be feeling herself and having the strength in order to work full time. As we all know, once she starts it will be several weeks before she gets a full check.

Any continued support, prayers, positive thoughts are welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Update: Melanie continues to be in good spirits. She has had a trip to the hospital this week due to being pretty sick. She was given IV’s with some good meds that helped her through. She is feeling better and trying to get some much needed rest.

Melanie is humbled by the generous donations. She has been able to focus more on her health knowing she doesn’t have to stress over the lights being shut off or being evicted from her apartment.

Hi, my name is Robin Hopper and I’m setting up the Go Fund Me account for my sister, Melanie Hopper-Kertz. She has a lot of friends and family inquiring about what can be done to help out during this time.

She has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Thank God this type of cancer is treatable and curable. However, Melanie has had to take off work due to the aggressive nature of chemo. Her short term disability has ran out and she hasn’t been approved for long terms disability at this time. All money will go to Melanie to help pay monthly bills and to provide basic necessities. Anything extra will go to help pay medical bills.

Melanie has had her last chemo treatment and will go for scans soon to ensure the cancer is gone.

Melanie is in good spirits. She has relied on her faith, friends and family to get her through. She is always willing to help others so I’m hoping we can pull together to help her out in her time of need.
