Melanie McCorkle Memorial Service

Hello, this is Melanie McCorkle

Melanie was the wife of Robert McCorkle and the mother of Kyle McCorkle and Keith McCorkle. She was also a guiding light and a true friend to many.

Melanie unexpectedly passed away at age 60 on Friday, August 26th. We are raising money to help pay for her memorial services and other final expenses.

How did this happen?

On Thursday, August 25th, Melanie was prepped and ready for her second hip replacement surgery. The first one occurred seven weeks prior. Unfortunately, Melanie suddenly "crashed" on the table at the end of the operation. The leading theory was that a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) had moved to her lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism, which caused her heart to arrest and send blood clots throughout her body. As a result, the physicians restarted her heart twice in a desperate effort to save her.

She passed the following day peacefully with loved ones by her side.

Why we need support:

Melanie was on a path of self-improvement that was awe-inspiring. She had lost nearly 100 pounds in the past year and made excellent strides in her health and wellness. However, her biggest obstacle was pain. Melanie's joints in her hips were worn down to the bone. As a result, they had no cartilage left. The hip replacement surgeries would be a gateway for her to take her life back from some of the pain that had made it so difficult.

Melanie was put on disability around 2012 for medical reasons. Her husband, Robert, is also disabled. Their limited income made it difficult to create savings for themselves. Melanie (and Robert) were finally able to make the responsible decision to get Life Insurance for themselves in 2021. Unfortunately, Melanie's policy was not mature at the time of her passing.

For these reasons, we ask for help handling Melanie's final expenses.
