Help Melanie fight cancer
Donation protected
Melanie - a friend to everyone, mom to Brayden, Makayla, & Kimaley. And once again another challenge faces Melanie. On February 3 Melanie ended up in the hospital for what she thought was appendicitis. It wasnt. The words out of the doctor's mouth was Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML ). What followed was testing, more testing, blood transfusions and a diagnosis of a 6-week hospital stay with various chemo treatments. It's a lifetime treatment schedule. . While chemo treatments are covered in Canada, all the extras are not. The daily bills keep coming in, care is needed for the kids and life keeps going on. Finances were tight before, but now its becoming an added stress in an already stressful time.
Facing a cancer diagnosis is not new to Melanie. As an 11-year-old she battled stage 4 non-Hodgkins lymphoma. So we know she will beat this!! She just needs our help.
All monies collected will go to help with the daily bills, activities (March break camp, summer camp etc), school supplies and the everyday needs of a family. Plus once she is home she will need care at home, help with daily routines, cleaning and many other things.
Also with the regular blood transfusions and the need for a bone marrow transplant shortly we ask that you consider donating blood and getting tested as a possible bone marrow match.
