Melanie Xanten. Beloved sister, aunt and friend.

Hi, my name is Ashlee and I wanted to start this fund to help Melanie’s family with all of the unexpected end-of-life expenses. The money will also go towards the care of her two dogs, Nala and Zazu, who she loved so much.

Melanie was such a bright light to anyone who knew her. She was so loving and caring and a true friend. She was always honest and would do anything to make you smile.

Melanie overcame so much in her life and her accomplishments and success was incredibly inspiring. But more inspiring than that was how she never let any of that define her or be an excuse. She just strived to always be the best version of herself. And to be there for anyone she loved.

Melanie took her own life on Thursday, September 1. She was 10 weeks pregnant with a baby who was so wanted and so loved.

This is obviously an unimaginable tragedy and we are all having a hard time knowing how to navigate it. Her family appreciates the love and support and asks that you respect their privacy at this time.

Melanie requested there to be no funeral, but there will eventually be a celebration of life held in her honor.
