Melanie Fore's Stem Cell Transplant

Donation protected
Melanie entered UNC Cancer Hospital on July 8th to begin chemo preparations for her Stem Cell Transplant after being diagnosed with AML Leukemia.  After a week of chemo she recieved her donor cells on July 16th.  With all the excellent care from the folks at the UNC Cancer Hospital everything went great.  Her counts started coming up and she was allowed to go to their temporary apartment to be seen out-patient on August the 1st.

Melanie must remain close to the UNC Hospital for 100 days after her transplant.  They are looking at hopefully returning to their home around the middle of October.

They are eternally grateful for all the help, thoughts, and prayers from everyone to get them to this point.  They would never have gotten here if it had not been for you!  Unfortunately the battle is not over.  Traveling, medicines, housing, food, mortgage at home, utilities at home, and many more obstacles must be overcome.  Melanie also starts long term disability at the end of September and her income is reduced to 60%.  Jason has been unable to work since March due to caring for Melanie and must remain by her side as a caretaker until the end of the 100 days.

Every donation will help ease the burdens this family is carrying through their difficult journey!
