Melendez Family House Fire- Coon Rapids, MN

My friend, Amanda Melendez, and her husband Josh, and 2 children, were in a house fire yesterday morning. Amanda and Josh both suffered smoke inhalation, and Josh incurred frostbite on his feet because of running outside with no shoes. The family of four was all brought to the hospital by ambulance. The children are ok. Amanda is still in the hospital, because of concerns for her heart. Their cat passed away in the fire, one dog is at the emergency vet, and one ran out of the house, and is still lost. 

The family does not have renters' insurance, and at this time have nothing. They need a place to live, and some of the expenses they are, or may be looking at, are a down payment and first month's rent on another place, replacement of items lost in fire, medical bills, daily needs such as clothing, diapers, wipes, etc.  Also, there will be vet bills, and the cost of cremation for their beloved cat.

Please pray for the family, and if you are able to help financially, I know it would be so much appreciated.

To help my friends to connect with who this is, this is the daughter (and son-in-law, and grandchildren) of our school classmates, the late Scott Stahnke, and Jennie Johnson (married Stahnke- class of '85 Cambridge).

The amount they are needing may change as they figure out what is needed. I just want to get this out there, so they can get some help as soon as possible.

All funds raised will go directly to them to help the family in this extremely difficult situation.
