Melendez Family Support

Hello, my name is Bill Smith and I am close friends (more like brothers) with Darryl, his wife Alexis, and also, Darryl's mom, Gloria. Though I am not related by blood, this family loves me as one of their own. They truly love without exceptions.

In recent days, Gloria's health has declined dramatically and she was placed on hospice and brought home to Darryl & Alexis so she could be surrounded by family.

Even with a hospice nurse, who is coming twice a week for only 10 minutes or so until we get closer to the end, there is a need for 24hr care for Gloria. Darryl and Alexis continue to provide this. They both have had to take extensive time off work, as well as pay for extensive amounts of supplies because of ordering issues through the hospice agency. This is putting them in a very difficult financial situation.

They both had to take this week off from work and even though Alexis will be returning next week, we don't know when Darryl will be able to go back to his job as he will be caring for Gloria full-time.

While Gloria's final expenses are paid, the strain this is putting on Darryl and Alexis is incredibly difficult and causing a lot of additional stress.
