Melissa Hamme Braden Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
Missi was so much to so many - a beautiful spirit and a joyful soul, a loving wife and mother, a devoted daughter and sister, a thoughtful and entertaining aunt/niece/cousin, a kind and generous friend, a wonderfully talented artist and a dedicated teacher. Missi left a lasting impression on her art students, using artistic methods and techniques to teach concepts, while at the same time making it clear that they were capable of creating something beautiful and worthy just by putting their own energy and their own twist on the assignments. She saw the world in colors and shapes as only an artist could, and was passionate about sharing that wherever she could.
It is our hope that we can continue to share Missi's love of the arts and create a legacy that will live on and benefit generations of students. With Missi's knowledge, input and blessing, we have created a scholarship in her name at the high school where her daughter, Chloe, graduated in 2018. With her degree in Music Education from Penn State University, Chloe will, in her own way, follow in her mom's footsteps by becoming a teacher of the arts.
This scholarship fund has been set up to honor the memory of Melissa Hamme Braden. All funds raised will be sent to the Melissa Hamme Braden Memorial Scholarship, which will be awarded yearly to a graduating Spring Grove High School senior planning to study the visual arts, performing arts, or arts education. Thank you for your consideration of a donation to Missi's scholarship fund. It is our hope that we can spread some of her magic and kindness to young students just beginning their journey and that we can keep her legacy alive.
