Hi, my name is Micayla and I have decided to start this Gofundme to help out my aunt Melissa as she is battling cancer. She is the kindest soul out there and doesn't deserve to be going through this one bit. I know she will be stubborn to take any help from anyone but if this is what I can do to help I'm glad to!

1 week after Melissa and Brian got married and 3 weeks after Melissa lost her mom, Melissa went in for her routine yearly exam. During her yearly exam, her doctor found a swollen lymph node. After finding the swollen lymph node her doctor suggested doing a CT scan and ultrasound. After the CT scan and ultrasound, they decided to remove the lymph node and send it to pathology for testing. It came back from pathology as cancerous. Melissa's doctor sent an urgent referral to Roger Maris Cancer Center. Then she went in for labs, a PET scan and a biopsy. After all was said and done, they determined it to be Non Hogkins Lynmphoma. It all started as a watch-and-wait game, and as the days went on they seemed to get worse with a lot more fatigue. Melissa went from working her full-time job, a part-time job and volunteering for an ambulance service, to just her full-time job, with some days not feeling the best and going home to take naps on her lunch break. Melissa recently went in for repeat blood work and allergy testing thinking they would say "let's watch and wait", but nope, now it's time to go get a port and start immunotherapy and chemotherapy, not knowing how her body will handle this.
