Melissa Leon’s road to recovery

Donation protected
Hello everyone! This is Melissa. Don’t let her size fool you. What she lacks in size she makes up for in personality, strength, perseverance and heart. She’s a volunteer firefighter at Clintondale Fire Department, a Healthcare worker, dog lover and overall loving and caring person.

On Sunday November 8th, Melissa was out riding her motorcycle when a car abruptly pulled out in front of her causing her to strike the vehicle and launched into the air. Due to the accident, Melissa sustained multiple injuries including a fractured hip, pelvis, femur, arm and wrist and is now in the hospital and requires multiple surgeries. She is looking at a long road to recovery in the hospital and then in a rehab facility where she will have to learn how to walk again.

If there is one thing those who know her know about her it’s that she’s a fighter. She is strong beyond will and we know she will be back on her feet (eating tacos) as soon as she can. But the burden of lasting injuries is not the only struggle.

We set up this page because her medical bills are already adding up and her insurance isn't covering much. Her fiancé Deanna will be by her side every step of the way but has a demanding job as a correctional officer. Let's help support these first responders so together they can focus on her recovery and not have to stress money so she can get back to helping others.
