Melissa Ousley’s Colon Cancer Fundraiser

In December 2021 Melissa got the unfortunate news that she had Stage 1 Colon Cancer. In late December she had surgery to remove a lesion on her colon, and the doctors were optimistic that all of the cancer was removed. 

Melissa decided to get a second opinion at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas. 

The doctors at MD Anderson ran some tests on her and found that the cancer has now spread to her liver, which caused her to be diagnosed with the Stage 4 colon cancer. 

Melissa has already made two trips to Houston for treatment, and started her first round of chemotherapy the first week of February. 

Melissa will either be traveling back and forth between Illinois and Texas, or staying down in Houston temporarily until her treatment is complete sometime late summer or early fall. 

Melissa has been off work since December, and her short-term disability will be coming to an end here soon, and unfortunately she doesn’t have long-term disability. 

As we all know, cancer treatment is very expensive to pay for, along with all of the other bills we have. 

Melissa is a loving wife, mom, and grandmother, and could really use everyone’s help during this hard time. Any donation will help, and is greatly appreciated it.
