Melissa Stubbs Nazaroff's Leukemia medication costs
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Tarah. In March 2024 my best friend Melissa Stubbs Nazaroff was diagnosed with Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). Good news! Her prognosis is great, but the treatment is complex and lengthy. So far, Melissa endured a five week stay at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto and has to return to the hospital almost daily for chemotherapy and other treatments. She is in good spirits and regaining her strength, but also tired and uncomfortable from the side effects of her medication.
If all goes well, the earliest Melissa is able to return to work as an HR director is January 2025. Unfortunately, the chemotherapy drugs she takes an outpatient are not covered completely by OHIP or her work insurance, and cost $700 per month, which has created financial stress in an already precarious time. Melissa is the sole earner for her family of three in downtown Toronto.
Any help for Melissa and her family would be appreciated to cover her medication costs for the next six months. Thank you so much for considering a donation.
