Melissa Wheatley's Warrior Fund - Battling Cancer

The battle began on October 31st, 2018, when the diagnosis of Stage Four Triple Negative Breast Cancer became reality for my Mother, Melissa Wheatley. With an expectancy of six months to live given the traditional treatment of Chemotherapy, Radiation and finally a Mastectomy my Mother chose to instead sign up for a Clinical Trial that utilizes Immunotherapy. On February 14, 2019, after twelve weeks of Immunotherapy, a CT scan showed that all Cancer had vanished. In that twelve weeks and in the weeks and months that followed she endured unimaginable pain and suffering, including permanent nerve damage in her hands and feet. As a precaution she is still receiving treatment. The physical and emotional cost of this battle has been extremely grave but the financial burden has been equally significant.
