Melissa W - Funds for the Fight!

Hi All, this is Carla Freise and I’m reaching out to my group of friends and colleagues with a tough subject. Some of you may or may not know that Melissa Womble has been fighting cancer since the beginning of the year. She was diagnosed with, stage 3, Multiple Myeloma, and has been receiving treatment, all year. I’m reaching out today because she has a major procedure/hospital stay coming up and I wanted to try and help in the best way possible. That means helping cover costs. She and her husband will have to stay in Houston for approximately 8 weeks, during her stem cell replacement treatment, and I wanted to try to raise money to help her cover these costs. She of course, has insurance, but this is all out of pocket costs. Her estimated timeframe for going to Houston is beginning of May.

We have such a great group of friends and colleagues, that I miss very much, btw, but I felt we could raise a decent amount that would help sufficiently. Melissa approved me doing this, although she’s not very comfortable with the concept, but I told her when folks hear her news, they want to help but just don’t know how. If this donation method doesn’t work for you, please contact me and we can work something out. Also, please don’t feel pressured to contribute, we all have existing lives with our own issues, but that’s why I’m throwing out a big net.

Thanks for anything you can do. Also, if you reach out to MW, keep it POSITIVE and don’t be sad, she needs only positive energy! So far her treatment has been successful, she just needs this last big stem cell treatment for remission. She’s a rock-star, as we all know and she’s fighting cancer in that way too.
